illi 2019 'Intensive Course' @ The University of Oklahoma - Dates to be published soon

Course Description

The illi Intensive Course - IC is the most comprehensive training for landscape lighting design available in the industry today.

This 5 day/5 evening class, created in 2010 by internationally acclaimed lighting designer Janet Lennox Moyer, is instructed by a dedicated team of 16 professional lighting designers and installers. Our attendee (18) to mentor (16) ratio, nearly one to one, is designed to allow each attendee to focus on their learning experience.  Our mentors will guide you through a series of 24 lecture presentations, 8 manufacturers' demonstrations, and 24 hours of intensive hands-on field work; we begin classes at 7:45 a.m. and return to the hotel at 10:30 p.m.  Our huge collection of state-of-the-art lighting equipment, the largest and most extensive in the world, will allow you to field test equipment from all major lighting manufacturers and explore landscape lighting productively and creatively.

Your learning experience is centered on landscape lighting design.  You will work in three teams of six to design, create, and install a temporary landscape lighting 'mock-up', each under the instruction of a team of three landscape lighting professionals.  On the final evening, you and your team will present your project to Jan, your mentor team, and an invited public audience (generally about 100 visitors).

Upon completion of the Intensive Course you will be able to conceptualize, plan, and spec beautiful landscape lighting designs.  You will take with you the technical skills of design graphics and documentation, low-voltage lighting system installation, and the proper maintenance procedures to insure the longevity and beauty of your clients' landscape lighting systems.

Tokamachi, Japan, October 23 - 28, 2017

illi's first course at an international location was a major success!  This is.  The permanent installation format for this course benefited the town's nature park's nighttime beauty and safety.  The project was generously sponsored and funded by the HK Lighting Group, illi, and the town of Tokamachi.  Q-Tran generously donated the project's transformers.  Click the link below for photos of the 2017 Course:
