Landscape Lighting Exhibition
The purpose of Area C is to welcome and guide guests safely to the front entry of the house when entering from the main driveway or garage.
The large Pinus sylvestris (Scotch Pine) situated within the corner of the fence line stands as a tall vertical element alerting those approaching the driveway to the entrance whereabouts. A low level of vertical element alerting those approaching the driveway to the entrance whereabouts. A low level of lighting along the planting beds located across from the house, assists in guiding guests to the front door.
Looking from the interior of the house through several large picture windows, the living space appears to grow beyond the walls of the built structure, and expend out into the front yard, welcoming the outdoors inside.
Bordering with Area B, we were cautious not to interfere with the illumination of the Magnolia Soulangiana (Saucer Magnolia) but rather worked to provide a cohesive landscape lighting plan. The low level planter bed lighting acts as the visual boundary beyond the more brightly accented magnolias over the patio.D.
